Peeks from the Week

Happy Friday!!!

This week felt short which is always pleasant when coming from a holiday break. We didn't do much of anything this week so this is a rather random peek.

Remember when I told you we won the Halloween costume contest as Mary Poppins and Bert? We got the nice photo from the party host this past weekend so here we are in all our glory!

Also this week we decorated the apartment for Christmas. Full reveal this coming Tuesday.

I'm still very interested in learning about the housing crisis (I don't know why, I just am) and we watched three more documentaries this week which are worth a watch if you're curious.  Hank: Five Years from the Brink is about the Secretary of Treasury at the time, Henry Paulson. Money for Nothing is about the Federal Reserve Bank and it covered the institution's history including its primary role in causing the crisis in 2008. We also watched We All Fall Down when my parents were here which was more about the mortgage side of the crisis. It reminded me of a documentary you would watch in high school government class. Very easy to follow and informative.

What I find most interesting about the crisis is all the moving parts that contributed to the collapse and how utterly close the entire economy was to complete failure. Like worse than the Great Depression failure. You would think that the world of today would be better prepared to prevent something so dramatic, but no. It's all about greed, plain and simple. And we aren't in any better place now than we were then. Greed still runs the world.

Anyways, happy weekend!!!
