Peeks from the Week

We tried a few different things this week to see if they helped with Kip's tantrums. Typically in the morning, Dan will bring Kip into our bed to watch a little TV while he has his cup of milk. This allows me to take a shower and start getting ready for work without him following me around. Now, however, Kip throws a fit when we turn the TV off so mid-week we decided to cut the morning family bed and see if that helped. Jury is still out. He did well one day and the next day threw a fit because he wanted a show. We'll keep trying.

I had my day with Kip on Tuesday this week and he threw fits all day long and basically refused to eat anything I offered. So, I tried a muffin tin dinner with lots of food he normally loves but in a different presentation. He loved it, or rather, he was starving and gave-up the fight?

The weather is getting more consistently nice so that has been really helpful to get Kip out of the house for a bit each day.

Dan and I are going to see a show tomorrow and hopefully temps in the 60s will bring back our sunshine boy. Fingers crossed!

Happy Friday!

Weekending it

We are in a really tough stage with Kip right now. It has felt like a 3-day long rolling tantrum the last few days. Holding tight to the hope that is is just a phase and hopefully soon he will have more words to tell us what he wants and needs instead of screaming and thrashing.

On Friday night Dan and I enjoyed at date at the Knicks game. It wasn't a very exciting match but we had a good time. Thanks to Mandy for babysitting!

Saturday Mandy and I took a tantrum filled Kip to Target and Trader Joe's and then in the afternoon we had a play date at a friend's house. We had to leave early due to another meltdown.

Sunday I was serving on brunch team so Dan had to handle poor Kip for hours. It was a hard day all around. No nap didn't help at all. And that evening we both had to wrestle Kip to eat dinner and take a bath. It was really overwhelming.

Spring is nearly here and we'll get through this stage. Right?

Peeks from the Week

Happy Friday!

Kip is non-stop now and has incredible endurance, at least compared to my level. This week Dan took him to the park and he played there forever and then walked like 8 blocks before being willing to sit in the stroller. I can't wait for more consistently warm weather so we can go explore some other parks.

He also got his second goose egg on the head. Agh! This toddler phase is dangerous!

Tonight Dan and I get to go on a date night to see the Knicks play the Nuggets. It was Dan's Christmas gift from my uncle so it should be fun. I know Dan will love it.

Hoping for signs of Spring this weekend!

Weekending it

Back at it! But first, the most important news...SPRING OFFICIALLY STARTS THIS WEEK!!

I however am not fooled. A friend shared this on Facebook and it is 1,000% accurate.

I got the flu at the end of last week. So it was mostly a Kippy and Daddy bonding weekend.

Happy Monday. Hope your Spring is arriving and sticking around.

Weekending it

I love daylight saving time in the Spring. Even though we lose an hour, I'm just so grateful that it is no longer dark outside when I leave work. And it is the first hint of the approaching spring and that makes me happy!

We had a little warmer weather this weekend. Dan, Kip, and I headed to Staten Island to go out for lunch and hit up Target.

We planned on going to Costco as well but it was too packed and diapers can wait.

Trying to ride Bullseye.

On Sunday it poured rain ALL DAY. We were at church early since Dan was serving which meant I chased Kip around all morning. He did not nap and was a bit of a grump. And, he insisted on going outside and stomping in the puddles. I forgot to bring his rain boots so his shoes got soaked.

A little girl at church made Kip a name tag and I just love little kid handwriting. So sweet.

Sunday afternoon show time.

We had a friend come over for a short play date late Sunday afternoon. Kippy loves it when people come over. He gets so excited. Unfortunately I didn't grab any pictures.

Happy Monday!

Peeks from the Week

Okay, it's not March. It's still February. SOOOOO cold this week.

Kip has been cooped up inside the entire week. Kid is stir crazy. Look at him, sitting by the apartment building door.

He has also learned to say "Go" so he has been saying that all week. Wanting to leave the apartment and go outside.

Anyways, boring week means few pictures. This is what I got.

Night Night Mommy, Part VI

Kip has started getting sneaky with these night night photos. Sometimes he will deny Dan a shot by putting his paci in his face. But that's okay, those ones are just as cute to me.

Gosh I love him.

Weekending it

March is acting a lot more like February. Bummer. Three snow storms in three days. All minor, but still.

At least we had Marmee here this weekend!! We hung out and watched lots of good movies.

On Saturday we all went over to New Jersey and had a steak lunch!

Then we hung out at Mandy's place. We said our goodbyes there since my mom was flying out of NJ.

On Sunday Dan, Kip, and I did church, chores, and all the grocery shopping.

The snow storm last night was supposed to be a big one and they called a snow day for the area early. We woke up to a pathetic amount of snow. So small they didn't even need to plow. Lame!

Today, Kip and I are catching up on house cleaning and odds and ends.

Happy Monday!

Peeks from the Week

Schedule rearranging has made it tough for me to update like usual this week. But, it's March! Yay! Spring is on its way, even though it's a dismal day with snow flurries.

Nevertheless, Peeks from the Week!

I finished painting the train set Grandma and Grandpa gave Kippy for Christmas. He really loves it.

But it was passed over for primary toy this week when Mandy returned from LA and Disneyland with Toy Story cars of Buzz and Woody.

(super cute side note...Kippy said "Boz" and "Oody")

Then on Wednesday, Marmee arrived!!!

And Kip's new cars were quickly passed up by the Lightening McQueen remote control car that Marmee bought him at the Disney store yesterday.

Disney Pixar fanatic over here.

The perks of being completely spoiled...urgh. Dan and I are really going to have to start building some boundaries with new toys now that Kip has added attitude and tantrums to the mix.

Ooh, and climbing. Here's a lil' update on that:

Gotta get closer to Oody.

Happy Friday!!!
