Peeks from the Week

As much as I love this time of year with all the seasonal cheer, merriment, and holiday spirit...I also hate it.  The calendar is jam packed, every single weekend there is an event of some sort and even the weeknights are filling-up.

Tuesday night was another epic commute meltdown.  I typically get home from work at 6:45 pm but I ended up waiting 30 minutes for my R train and then having to take another train and then walk a good 15 minutes and then didn't arrive home until well after 7 pm.  When we finally settled down to unplug night we worked on our Winter bucket list and Christmas craft prep.

Here is the Bucket List, as promised.

Easy read version:
- Painted pot - a local paint your own pottery shop
- Dyker Christmas lights - a neighborhood close-by has epic lights.  See our visit last year here.
- 1,000 piece puzzle - we love us some puzzles but it's been awhile since we assembled one.  Great for a winter day inside or an unplug night.
- Go ice skating at least twice.  With our own skates it's a fun, free, and festive activity.
- Try two new restaurants.  A standard bucket list goal it seems.
- Visit a new-to-us museum
- Overnight get-away.  Last winter Dan and I had a fun overnight at a hotel downtown and it was a lovely little time.
- Movie theater date.  We rarely go to the theater but now we have an excuse.
- Decorate Christmas cookies.  Mandy!  I'm looking at you to fulfill this.
- Go to or host a New Year's Eve party.  We just got invited to one yesterday so it looks like we won't be hosting which I'm not too sad about.
- Cook three brand new recipes.  I asked for two cookbooks for Christmas so hopefully I'll have some motivation.
- Schedule to attend an event.  It's been over a year since we went to a basketball game so we might do that or maybe a Broadway show if we can find something affordable

Yay winter!  Yay Christmas!

Thursday nights are now our city nights.  Dan meets me after work and we go to Grand Central Terminal for dinner before counseling.  We typically choose to eat at Shake Shack!  I love this time of year because almost every building has decorations!  There was a cute little train display at Grand Central that we admired for several minutes.

We grabbed some hot apple cider at the holiday market in Bryant Park before jumping on the Subway back home.

Yay it's almost the weekend!  Woot.  Hope you enjoyed these peeks.
