When Dan and I were visiting Mandy back in July we were trying to kill time. Mandy pulled over randomly and said she wanted to take us to Bargain in a Box. For the "experience."
Has anyone ever been there? It is basically a bottom of the barrel close-out store. What it lacks in ambiance it does not make up for in charm. You walk in the door and grab a cardboard box with a rope tied to it and literally drag it around the store. The aisles consist of larger box bins on wood palates lined-up in rows. The boxes are filled with what appear to be the discards from Walmart.
It wasn't too far off from our Chinese dollar stores in Bay Ridge, except those are filled floor to ceiling with merchandise.
I know some people who would love a store like that. So, the next time you're in the Chicago area check it out. It's an experience for sure. Just look at that old man dragging his box in the pic below. I bet he got a bargain ;o)
And that's your rainy day random.
Yeah! Bargain in a box!!!!
