View from the Top

On Friday evening, after our sweaty hot day exploring downtown Chicago, we met up with Dan's cousin Julie and her husband Travis and their two kids.  I had never met them since they only just recently moved to the Chicago area from northern New York.

They have the most amazing apartment ever.  Ever.

We're talking highrise apartment directly across from Millennium park overlooking Lake Michigan.  Floor to ceiling windows with exceptional views.  Mandy, Dan, and I were floored.  When we walked into the super nice apartment building lobby I'm sure the doorman was like "who are these ragamuffin tourists that smell like a Burger King? Surely they're lost."  Umm, no...we actually know people who LIVE here!!  We took the elevator up 40 some odd floors and were completely overwhelmed with the views.

These photos do not do it justice.  Dan and I went to Sears Tower last April and those views were pretty awesome but there is something so much better about seeing this from inside someone's living room.

Julie and Travis took us to see all the amenities in their building like the swimming pool, game room with a patio (also with crazy awesome views), and another lounge area with a patio.

After exploring the views, the four of us went to Berghoff's for dinner.  It is a really old famous German restaurant in downtown Chicago.  The food was epic and the company was even better.

I really loved spending some time with Dan's family especially since we hadn't met.

We ended the night catching some sunset views from their apartment.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  If I lived there I would never leave those windows.

Gorgeous night to end a full day in the city.
