A couple of months ago there was an advertising campaign in the Subways for a realty website. When I saw one of the ads I took a picture because it perfectly sums up what I can contribute to this link-up topic for the day.
We live in an apartment building in Brooklyn. We have no back yard. We have no front yard. We have no patio, balcony, or roof access for lawn furniture or potted plants. Sometimes this is a bummer. But it also means we aren't responsible for watering, mowing, or the upkeep of a yard. We don't have to shovel snow in the winter or haul the garbage out to the streets on garbage day.
We have a park two blocks away with a field, basketball courts, and a playground. A little bit more of a walk and you're at a park with tennis courts, another playground, and more basketball courts. Down closer to where my old apartment was there is a park with a giant hill for sledding, picnic spots, and another playground, skate board area, and basketball court. Nearly every park has a splash pad and Bay Ridge also boasts a pier and promenade next to where the New York harbor meets the Atlantic Ocean. Plus gorgeous views of the city in one direction and the Verrazano Bridge from the other. All that plus more is within walking distance of our home. Beyond that, it's just NYC.
LOVE your perspective and I definitely think no yard is worth having NYC as your yard :) Thanks so much for linking up! :)
