Summer Bucket List Recap

I normally don't share our Summer Bucket List recap until the end of September, but I'm feeling ahead of the game and nearly ready to move along to fall. That's quite big of me. I LOVE SUMMER. I wish it could last forever but now that we have a kid in school, that "summer's over" feeling really hits and the urge to return to routine and a slower pace feels needed. School starts tomorrow so while we still have warm weather and weekend adventures ahead, I'm tipping my hat to the end of the season today.

This summer treated us really, really well.

And we nearly hit everything on our list!

We kicked off the season with our first family beach vacation to Cape May back at the end of June with Uncle Greg and Lucy, Aunt Jagee, and Poppa!

Storybook Land always has our hearts!

We hit SO MANY parks and playgrounds, several of them were new to us and the kids enjoyed the splash pads several times as well.

We managed to squeeze in our day in the city and Kip got an extra bonus day with Uncle Joey.

We went to the pool at least a dozen times and had lunch or dinner picnics there several times as well.

Auntie Jagee came to see us again in July and we did Seaside Heights boardwalk arcade, rides, and beach with her.

The kids experienced bowling for the first time.

Dan and I took them on several bike rides around the park.

And we had a blast on our trip to Kansas to visit with Grandma and other family.

We weren't able to meet-up with our Brooklyn friends but I think that might be a perfect fall activity some weekend in the next month or so. Other than that, we did it all and much, much more!

The kids got to go to several arcades, they caught fish, drove the lawnmower, and rode on the tractor. We did fireworks, Great Wolf Lodge, loads of trip to playgrounds, we did mini golf, Kip built TONS of Lego sets, Ivy learned to jump and go down slides by herself. We played in our driveway, celebrated birthdays, had dinners outside, went on walks, and ate ice cream. Then there was the Hot Wheels Monster Truck show and extra trips to the beach.

We soaked-in the season and healed our hearts, just a tiny bit, from the past three years of difficult summers.

Life is a ride and summer is our season to make certain we have some fun with it.
