After our little overnight at Great Wolf Lodge, we spent the rest of our time in Kansas at Grandma's house and visiting family.
Grandma found a unicorn blow-up mattress for Ivy to match Kip's car bed. We've finally outgrown the pack-n-play bed!! Ivy was thrilled with this set-up.
And surprise, Kip still fits on the Buzz ATV Grandma got him when he was not yet two years old. And he can drive Ivy around too!
We got right to work making messes with mixing slime and playing with Dad's old hot wheel cars.
On Friday, we got a lesson on how the cord wall phone works when Aunt Judy called asking for Kip! Lol, look at him leaning against the wall like a pro!
We helped Grandma harvest her garden.
And then headed to Elsmore to spend the day with Aunt Judy and Aunt Kandi!! We had a BLAST, visiting with the cats, playing with the toys we only see once a year, and riding the lawn mower! City kids in the country...it's pretty funny to see what they marvel at.
After lunch we headed to the lake to go fishing for the first time!!! Grandma got them each their own poles and Judy and Grandma loaded them with worms and bait and taught them how to cast out and watch the cork and wait...and wait...and wait.
It was a beautiful day on the dock!
Success! Kip caught a sun fish and a cat fish and Ivy got to reel in another sun fish.
Happy fisher-kids!
After leaving the lake we went to visit Grandpa. Kip left that little Chiefs helmet which was the sweetest most genuine gesture of him (even if it pissed Ivy off royally because she wanted it).
Then we went to Uncle Willy's house to drive his tractor with Aunt Judy and use his kitchen to cook-up our catch for a fish taco dinner.
I didn't get any photos of the fish tacos because I was too busy inhaling them. They were SO GOOD. Thank you Grandma, Aunt Judy, and Aunt Kandi for all your hard work putting it together.
We shot off some fireworks while we were there as well and then said our goodbyes and headed back to Grandma's house. It was a long day but so much fun and filled with lots of sweet memories.
