Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday! It was our last full weekend of summer plus the Labor Day holiday and we made the most of it!
For my last Summer Friday (I get off work at 2 pm), Mandy and I took the kids to a paint-your-own pottery place. It was their first experience and they had fun! Ivy got bored after awhile but Kip really loved his monster truck. They are both beyond eager to pick-up their finished products next week.
On Saturday we hosted friends for a play date and some back-to-school ice cream sundaes.
Sunday we decided to brave the traffic and head to the beach! We went to Long Branch beach which is about 45 minutes away and while the beach was packed, we staked a good spot and spent 5 glorious hours there. Both the kids truly love playing in the sand and waves.
Towards the later afternoon, the tide was going out so we did some treasure hunting and made keepsake jars the following day. I can't believe we found sand dollars!!
Yesterday was slow and moody. Kip is anxious about school and so we appeased his desire to go to Target so he could spend his last dimes on yet another Lego set. At least it will keep him occupied until school starts.
We hope you too enjoyed your last official weekend of summer!
