Peeks from the Week

Oh rainy dreary Friday...we haven't seen the sun in days and they turned the heat back on in the apartment building.  Where did spring go?  Al Roker said we are on the cold side of an "omega block" which is keeping the crummy weather in our area while the midsection of the country is enjoying unusually warm weather.  I'm jealous.

Today I decided to wear flats regardless of the downpour and I am paying the price with wet pants and cold toes.  But onward to the weekend!

Wishing...the rain would stop and the sun would come out.

Hoping...the current tenants at our new apartment move out by May 15th so we can get into our new place sooner than June 1st...or at least just to start taking measurements and painting.

Thinking...all this rain should make for some lush and green trees and grass in the parks.

Praying...Dan can get all his church work done tomorrow so that he can really enjoy his sabbatical.  It starts Sunday afternoon!!!

Planning...my packing plan.  It starts tomorrow.

Dreaming...about the sun.  My soul needs to defrost.

Last night our counseling was canceled but we decided to go into the city anyways and have Chick-fil-A for dinner.  We've been talking about getting tickets to see a show in early August when Mandy comes to visit for our birthday.  I really want to see Hamilton (as does the rest of the world) but not only is it super expensive but it's sold out through January.  So, safe to say we'll never see that show.

Tony nominations also came out this week and ticket prices usually skyrocket after a show wins an award.  Waitress was nominated for best new musical and best original score so we decided to splurge and buy tickets now in case it wins either of those.  We always buy the cheapest tickets but Ticketmaster was charging over $60 in fees so we decided to see if it was cheaper to get the tickets at the box office.  And it was! We saved nearly a whole ticket price by going to the box office.  Of course this only works if you live semi-local but a good tip.

We stopped in Times Square to pretend like we were tourists.

And then got slices of Junior's Cheesecake for dessert at home.

This weekend is packing for me and work for Dan and then a birthday party for cousins Kaleigh and Kourtney in the city.
