Weekending it

Well, here we are again.  Monday.  A full week of work ahead of us.  Blah.

This weekend Dan and I were quite busy and didn't do any of our previous weekend adventuring.

On Friday night we went to our local botanic garden for their free movies in the park.  We saw Uncle Buck in June and saw Ghostbusters this Friday.

Movies in the park is on our summer bucket list and since we've gone twice we can check it off our list.  We've got nearly everything done.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed to the church office space to set-up for our annual Rummage Sale.  For the last three years we have hosted a Rummage/Bake sale to raise money for the Compassion kids that the Children's Ministry supports.  In years past we've raised over $600 from this one event which was enough to support two kids for a full year.

This year we didn't have quite as many big ticket items but we still made over $300 which was pretty good.

I left the sale mid-day to head to a friend's baby shower which was really cute and a nice time to relax.  Don't worry, the baby's name isn't Hulk, that's just their nickname for him.

I got back to the sale in time to help move inventory at lowered prices and then pack-up what was left to donate to the Salvation Army.  That night Dan and I ordered-in from our favorite Indian food restaurant.

Sunday was church and the second to last week of our Summer Soccer/Arts Camp.  Dan took the soccer kids outside to play and I had two helpers with the crafters.  We used a classroom instead of the stairwell and it went pretty well.  We made "dreamcatchers" or spider-man webs.   Overall it went well.

After church we had lunch with the staff families and "newcomers" although the only newish family there yesterday have been coming for close to a year.  Still a good time.

We finished the weekend with lasagna that Dan made and we watched Prometheus which is a terrifying alien horror movie which I couldn't finish watching and I don't recommend unless you're into alien impregnation.

This week we have dinner guests two nights and I have an itch in my brain to paint the entryway.  Here's to hoping the work days fly.
