Weekending it

Kip turns 2 on Saturday!!! GAAAA!!!!!! How is that possible?

I'm both excited and in mourning. My little baby is such a big boy. Gonna soak up the little guy this week in preparation for his big day.

This past weekend we checked something off of our bucket list and park hopped all afternoon on Saturday.

Our neighborhood has a lot of great parks but Downtown Brooklyn as SO many parks all over and the areas can be kind of ritzy which translates to high-end equipment. Last summer Dan and I dreamed about being able to take Kip to all kinds of fun places and came-up with the idea to "park hop." Now that Kip is bigger and able to play, we made it a stop on our Bucket List.

At the first park Kip was really into the abandoned toys. He basically didn't do any of the jungle gym stuff, just pushed these wheely toys around until we had to drag him away.

On our walk over to the next park we stopped to get a treat at a place called Milk. They have cereal milk flavored ice cream. Yes, that's right, ice cream that tastes like the milk leftover in your bowl after having some cereal. It tastes exactly as you imagine...and those are crushed corn flakes. YUM.

The next park was pretty old school and the "splash pad" area had a drainage issue so it was a big like a wading pool. Kip LOVED it and got totally drenched before we changed him into a suit.

It was practically 5 pm by the time we got to the third park but Kip was still going strong so we decided to disregard his approaching bedtime and keep playing!

This park had a sand pit!

The last park we went to was Kip's favorite because it was a park FULL of abandoned toys and cars with plenty to go around so most of the kids weren't fighting over who had what. We didn't leave until well past his bedtime. He had so much fun.

On Sunday we all headed to church and then after lunch and grocery shopping we met-up with friends at a park near our apartment and played some more!! It was a full playground weekend.

And a balloon find on the way home!
