Weekending it

We had a great holiday weekend and last hurrah to the unofficial end of summer.

The weather was really crummy on Saturday and Sunday which was hard since I hate the transition from summer to fall. But the weather perked-up on Monday for a lovely summer day that warmed our spirits.

On Saturday, Dan and I hung out at home with Kippy and cousin Kourtney came over to visit and brought us delicious manicotti for lunch. Kippy was in a good mood and let her hold him for a long time while we visited.

We dressed Kippy in the vintage outfit that Terri Mom saved. This is what Dan wore home from the hospital after he was born. Still a little big on Kip.

On Sunday, Mandy drove over in the morning and helped us wrangle everything we needed to go to church. I was really wanting to go but had yet to work-up the courage to make the journey with Kip. Now that we have to commute to church it is quite a production to get out the door and I wasn't ready to take Kip on the subway. So Mandy offered to come and drive us which was perfect because it rained all morning and we would not have gone if she hadn't come.

Kippy did great at church and I survived my first pumping in public experience. We even managed to get to Shake Shack for lunch and a quick stop at Michaels. We chilled the rest of the afternoon and then another friend came over Sunday night to visit and brought us dinner. Friends and family have been so generous to us with Kip's arrival, we are really grateful.

On Monday Mandy planned a day-venture to New Jersey. The weather was gorgeous and Kippy slept the whole time so we were able to grab bagel sandwiches for lunch and eat them at Raritan Bay Waterfront Park. It was gorgeous.

We took a little stroll, made a pit-stop at Mandy's place to pump and feed, and then got delicious ice cream at a cute little old fashioned ice cream shop.

Mandy drove us home, helped me give Kippy another bath, and then headed home for the night.

We all had a really great day and I felt like we got to give summer a good farewell (but we all know the summer weather will keep peeking out every now and then through October).

Kippy and I had a rough night last night. Pumping and feeding and just generally not sleeping well. It's been a hard day so far too since they are working on repairing the fire escape on our building and they are making a lot of noise and Kip isn't napping. Sigh. This is real life. Hopefully tomorrow is better and on Friday, Auntie Jessy comes to visit!!!!!!

Hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day!
