Weekending it

So our mini trip to Philly (read about that here and here) made-up a good portion of our weekend but the fun was far from over.

Dan's good friend from high school (and one of our groomsmen), Jeff, and his lovely wife Cheryl met us in Philly to catch the same bus back to NYC!  That was a fun convenience!  They came back to our place and are our first guests to enjoy the redecorated polka dot room.  When we got back to Bay Ridge we ordered Grandma's Original pizza (our local fave) so they could try New York style pizza.

On Sunday, after church, we headed to Coney Island.  Jeff and Cheryl brought the Kansas sunflower sunshine with them and our area will have upper 70s and 80s all week!!!  Squeee! Finally, dress with no tights weather.

It was breezy by the water but the sunny spots were lovely.  We had Nathan's famous for lunch (yum) and then sat on the pier and enjoyed the beach and ocean views for awhile.

After Coney Island we headed to Park Slope to check-out an ice cream shop that cousins Kaleigh and Kourtney were telling us about called Ample Hills.  It was super crowded and we waited about 20 minutes but it was worth it.  It reminded my of my scooping days.  Super yummy!

That night we watched TV and played Dix-it and Spades.  It's super fun to have company and it really helps Dan and me to get out and explore more.  Overall the weekend was jam packed and maybe not the most relaxing but it certainly made us feel alive.
