Hippo Birdie Buddy

Yesterday Dan turned 2-9!!  That's crazy because he neither looks nor acts like he is 29 and since age is a state of mind let's just say he is 18.

Overall it seems like he had a pretty great day.  He got cupcakes (non-chocolate) at work and Puddles and Philbin gave him his favorite candies for sermon writing motivation.  We got the sugar covered.

After work we checked an item off of our summer bucket list and tried Dinosaur BBQ in Brooklyn for dinner.  The place was nice and the food was good but we both agreed the brisket and mac&cheese will be better at the wedding.

Then we headed to my place where a giant stack of boxes were waiting to be unpacked.  It was a mix of b-day gifts, things we ordered for the apartment, and a registry gift.

Here is all his loot pre-opening.  Those giant blue bags are items gift wrapped by Amazon.  Like Santa sacks!

He got an Empire State building lego set from my sister Mandy, an Amazon gift card from my parents, a TENT, duffel bag, and toiletry tote from his parents, two pairs of dress pants, a pair of jeans, a new dress shirt and tie, a cell phone case, beach towel, and a mini basketball hoop for a trash can from me.  He got kinda spoiled but that's okay because he is super hard to shop for and totally worth it.

Then I sang him Happy Birthday and we ate pecan pie from the Key Food off of paper plates.  Classy.

Happy Birthday Dan!  29 is going to be an epic year!
