Weekending it

I wonder if I'll ever manage to get our Weekending it posts up on an actual Monday? Sigh.

We celebrated Kip's half birthday on Saturday. He got a half a birthday card and a little train accessory for his Build-a-Bear plus "breakfast in bed."

For lunch he requested Shake Shack and we ended up at Target which is a black hole for the kids and the bank account.

On Sunday we wore our Chiefs gear to church for jersey day and then went for a nice stroll with the stuffies.

We had our Super Bowl tradition of loaded nachos for dinner and we let the kids stay up and watch the game a little past bedtime. Kip made decorations.

Neither kid was interested in the game itself, but Kip was intrigued by the commercials since he rarely ever sees commercials. We had to keep reminding him that they were for a movie or "just pretend." He was also pretty wowed by Usher's Halftime show.

4, the number of times the Chiefs have been to the Superbowl in his lifetime.

Of course you all know by now that the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl in a nail-biter overtime game. I didn't look at the T.V. the entire overtime in case I had some sort of magical energy that could throw the game. You can thank me for my sacrifice. Dan was happy as I'm sure the rest of his family was as well.

Today is a snow day! The second this year and a real treat for Kip. The snow has already stopped and is far too wet to play in, but we have no complaints about a free day off.
