Weekending it

Ahh, I'm falling behind on blogging so I'm hoping to catch-up. 

This past weekend was another close wash-out. We had rain again!!! Kip's soccer game was not canceled so we hustled to the park only to find out there never was a game on the schedule except the coaches didn't tell any of the players that!!! So Kip and Ivy ran around with some of the other kids there before the rain blew through.

Due to the rain, Dan and I had to get creative with entertainment. We took the kids to Barnes and Noble so Kip could pick some more free reading books to take to school and of course we walked out with more than we bargained for.

In the afternoon we painted pumpkins that the kids got with Mandy one day after school.

Then we decorated cute haunted house gingerbread kits from Target.

That night we snuggled together for a popcorn movie night and watched Spooky Buddies (super lame and awful acting but perfect for the kids). 

On Sunday we went to church and the kids were in separate classes for the first time. It went okay. Kip did fine and Ivy cried for awhile but eventually settled down. 

In the afternoon we were at the YMCA Tot Trot. The kids did little games and then ran quick races for their age groups. Overall the event was a bit of a bust (no bounce houses or food trucks as advertised) but all was made right when the kids each got a race medal for participating. 

The kids were beat by the end of the day and had a little sleepover in Ivy's room that night since Kip was off school on Monday for the holiday. 

Mandy and I took the kids apple picking on Monday so swing back to the blog tomorrow to see some photos of that.
