Weekending it

My goodness we've had such a soggy early fall. So many days have been total wash outs. I'm sure the flooding in NYC made national news. Fortunately, none of that drama interfered with Dan and my commute since we take the Staten Island railroad which is above ground and then the ferry which is never really impacted by rain.

Saturday was still rainy so Kip's soccer game got canceled again. He's only had two games this season with several other games and practices canceled due to rain. But rainy days makes for perfect movie days, so Dan and I took the kids to see the new Paw Patrol movie. They both enjoyed it although Ivy got restless towards the end.

Sunday was beautiful sunshine and a return of typical fall weather. After church the kids did their second race in the Healthy Kids Running Series. It was muddy but still fun.

I wish everyone could see Ivy attempt jumping jacks. It's hilariously cute.

For the 50 Yard Dash Ivy started off strong and then walked the rest of the way. When Mandy asked her why she didn't run, Ivy replied "I was going baby unicorn speed." Oh boy.

Baby unicorns are not fast.

Kip ran his quarter mile in 2 minutes flat which was super impressive in my opinion although he was still one of the last to cross the finish line. So many kids are truly sonic speed!

We spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside and decking the house for Halloween.

In the evening Dan cashed-in his birthday present from him mom which was tickets to a Kansas City Chiefs game at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets. He went with a friend from Brooklyn and they enjoyed a surprisingly close and exciting game. But, the Chiefs still came out winners!

We have a nice weather week ahead which will feed our soggy souls with sunshine!
