Weekending it

We've had a pretty rainy July but I'm not complaining about it. Last summer we were in a local drought which caused so much damage to the crops and trees in our area. Then without ANY snow this past winter, the trees are still having a hard time. So, I am grateful for any rain, even if it messes with plans.

This weekend we hit the pool for a bit (before being rained out).

On Sunday it poured rain all day, so we took the kids bowling for the first time!  Gotta love the terrible lighting in the bowling ally.

Kip absolutely loved it. He was the perfect age. He loved his blue ball, he loved knocking the pins down, he loved helping Ivy. He was so cute pushing his ball down the shoot and then he would put his hands on his hips and diligently watch to see what he hit.

He was having a blast until he realized he wouldn't win first place and Dad would beat him. Kip's competitive streak is starting to come out more and more and it did NOT matter to him that he would win second place. Sigh.

Ivy didn't care at all about winning. She liked playing but was also constantly asking for snacks or asking to leave. She did however learn to jump (feet off the ground) for the first time. IN bowling shoes no less!! Yay sis!

After bowling we distracted Kip with an arcade game which he enjoyed.

Ivy picked one of those claw machines and was upset she didn't end-up with the stuffed toy she wanted. She dropped it on the ground and said, "I do not love him." Sigh. Disappointments all around. But if you look past that, they did have a good time and the adults did too.
