Family Vacation - Beach and Cape May

Our first full day at the shore we woke-up and headed straight to the beach. Villas was on the bay side so we tried the beach over there instead of paying for the ocean-side beach in Cape May. We LOVED the bay side. It was super clean, not crowded at all, dog friendly, and had huge tide pools the kids loved playing in. And free! There were loads of smooth pebbles and small shells and lots of sea life to investigate. Everyone was relaxed and had fun.

We built a sand castle and had a sand ice cream/bake shop and Ivy drew sand hieroglyphics with Dad.

Even Lucy loved the beach (ignore my foot)!

After a couple of hours at the beach we went back to the house, cleaned-up, ate lunch, and then went into Cape May to explore the town. Unfortunately, it was VERY crowded and not dog friendly so we didn't spend a ton of time there. Just poked into a few shops and that was it. I was bummed we didn't get to show everyone more of the area with all the cute Victorian homes but oh well, the crowds made it a bit overwhelming. The kids got some souvenirs and that's all they wanted anyways.

For dinner we went to the Lobster House which had outdoor seating and welcomed dogs. This was my favorite night. The atmosphere was fun and everyone enjoyed their food. Kip wanted to try lots of fish on this trip and he devoured his meal.

After dinner we went back to the house and the "kids" worked on a paint-by-number garland Auntie Jess brought. Kip has already given it a permanent home in his room.

Sharing about our last day of the trip tomorrow.
