Weekending it - Part I

Happy Easter! Happy Spring! It's amazing how much more energy and life I have when the warm temperatures and consistent sunshine returns. Spring really is a season of renewal!

Kip is on Spring Break right now which feels so late compared to most other parts of the country but I'm glad it's actually warm for Spring Break instead of still cold in mid-March. To kick-off break, Dan and I took the kids for Italian Ice/ice cream when we picked Kip up from school on Thursday. It was 80 degrees and felt like summer!

On Friday, the kids hung-out with Mimi and in the evening Kip had a friend over for a short play date. Shockingly, Ivy was super into this friend and was running around like a big kid, trying to get Kip's friend to play with her too, no hesitation.

To kick-off the weekend, on Saturday, we went to the garden center and met some friends for a "hay ride" to the Easter Bunny. It was short ride (through the parking lot), a bit silly, but the kids enjoyed it and it was a cute photo op.

In the afternoon our friends came over for an Easter Egg hunt!!

All the kids had fun and it was an afternoon filled with playing.

Ivy has made so much progress lately coming out of her shell and engaging with others. She gave it a good go with M for a bit despite the age gap (about a year) and eager dominance of little M.

Check back tomorrow for the recap of our Easter Sunday.
