Spring Break Visitors

We had a fabulous spring break last week with Grandma and Aunt Judy here to visit!! They brought the sunshine with several days of full summer temperatures. The grass is green, the trees are blooming, and flowers are popping-up everywhere. Our dead winter souls are defrosting and life is good!!

I'm recapping all our fun memories from last week today and tomorrow, so come along!

Grandma and Aunt Judy arrived Wednesday evening and Ivy warmed-up to them both within five minutes. Yay, sis! Both the kids know that Grandma and Judy always bring magical suitcases filled with surprises and so presents and fun treats were doled out all week! Two extra full-time playmates made for super happy kids and parents. It was truly a wonderful week.

After dinner, Kip got to show off his reading skills before bed.

The next morning we continued to play with our first surprise treat - a whoopee cushion! Nothing says silly Aunt Judy like potty humor!

Both kids got Lego sets to build with Grandma.

And sticker books and a goodie bag of party toys.

The weather was in the upper 80s on Thursday and I put Ivy in a dress without tights for the first time this season. She exclaimed, "Why are our legs open???!!" Lol.

We hit up a belated Easter Egg hunt and crafts at the tiny local library.

And then headed to the mall to find soccer shin guards for Kip. Of course we had to snag some fun on the dollar car rides as well.

Back at home, we had some surprise cotton candy from Grandma.

Then we spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside in the driveway and added new color-changing hot wheels and monster trucks from Grandma to our water table.

Ivy got a very small make-up kit at Claire's when we were at the mall. After dinner the kids were oddly quiet and we discovered they had given themselves full-body make-overs. Ha!

Like, they used the lip gloss to paint their toenails. Blech!

On Friday, we started the morning with building a robot toy, more make-up, and snuggling with Super Kitties from Grandma.

Then we headed out for a grand adventure to some place new to all of us.  I'll share about our epic visit to Seaside Heights beach and boardwalk tomorrow. It was a blast and it deserves it's own post!

On Saturday, Grandma and Judy got to watch Kip at his swim lessons and see how much progress he has made in the last year.

Then in the afternoon we headed to our traditional trip to Target for the kids to each pick a toy. We spent the rest of the day playing with the new Lego and Play-doh sets.

Then we squeezed in an indoor snowball fight with the bounce house by special request for Ivy.

On Sunday we took Grandma and Aunt Judy to the church we're starting to attend. The kids enjoyed Sunday School again.

The rest of the day we played at home and later Cousin Kaleigh came from the city to visit. We took her to the park and flew the kites we got from Grandma's magical suitcase.

The kites were epic and so easy to fly. We were all impressed.

On Monday, Kip was back at school but Ivy enjoyed her extra playtime. They also made a trip to Walmart and Aunt Judy let Ivy pick a couple of things from her.

We visited the ice cream truck after school for an extra end-of-spring-break treat and then painted wooden flowers to add to our Spring mantle decor.

Grandma and Aunt Judy left early Tuesday morning and it was a tearful goodbye. We all really, really enjoyed their visit.

Come back tomorrow of our Seaside Heights review.
