Le sigh. Newly sick kids again. Honestly, I can't deal. It's endless. There has been at least one person in our home sick with something since November 1. Kip was mending well after three days home from school last week and then Ivy got sick in the night on Friday and has been puny all weekend. The problem for her is she is old enough to be aware but not old enough to really understand. So she is crying about her tummy hurting while simultaneously begging for food. She seems to be doing better today but I can't count on anything at this point. I'm trying to stay positive, still enjoy the season, and just be grateful for the flexibility of hybrid work which has allowed me to be home to help take care of the kids while also not missing meetings or work.
We had plans to visit Santa at Storybook Land this weekend. Of course, that didn't happen. Instead we stayed inside all weekend and watched movies. Kip made it to swim lessons and Mandy enjoyed building a gingerbread Lego house with help from Kip.
I also rallied the kids to write a letter to Santa. There is a house in town that has a special North Pole mailbox to drop them in and a letter from Santa gets sent back. We're going to try it out.
And Dan attempted to teach Kip how to play checkers with a homemade Magnatile board.
