Merry Grinchmas Breakfast

Today is the first of December and the official kick-off of the Christmas season in our home!! The house is decorated (inside and out) and we are trying our best to pull ourselves out of the sickness of November and into the cheer of December.

Andrea at Momfessionals always does a North Pole Breakfast for her kids and a lot of people do something festive with the arrival of their Elves from Elf on the Shelf. We don't do Elf on the Shelf (too much stress for all involved), BUT, we have always gotten the kids Advent or countdown calendars. Mandy and I decided to whip-up a fun tablescape with stuff we had on hand and tie it all together for a Merry Grinchmas Breakfast. Kip loves the Grinch (especially "hairy" Grinch which is the Jim Carrey version) so I called it a Grinchmas Breakfast for something fun. It turned out pretty cute.

Kip got a Lego calendar and Ivy got Cocomelon. They each got a tiny Santa mug (like Grandma's) and I had gotten them fun twisty straw cups at the grocery store. The also each got a Christmas Tonie. Kip got the Grinch and Ivy got Santa Mickey.

We had powdered donut snowballs, festive fruit cups, and I made grinch-green pancakes with Christmas sprinkles. Some of them even looked like trees!

We also put out the Gingerbread house kit to do this month and a box of hot chocolate bombs to try. The kids were surprised and it was a fun new tradition.

Next year we'll have to remember to wear some Christmas pajamas to really be on-theme!

Merry Grinchmas!!
