We celebrated Kip's birthday the same way we've celebrated all of his birthdays so far. Fun decorations, helium balloons, cake and presents at home.
Maybe next year, when he turns 5 and he has some little school friends, we will do a friends party. For now, this is what he knows and what feels safe. We all enjoyed the day together.
Kip got his first Lionel train set, a bunch of monster truck toys and ramps, a pretend car wheel/dashboard (which Ivy loves too), magnetic robots, some pieces and trains for his wooden train set, bubble wands, a mini basketball hoop, trampoline, books, and more. Our next door neighbors got him a huge monster truck remote control toy which was a big surprise for him and us. He is shockingly good a playing with it.
We did cake and candles after lunch. Mandy made him his request of a strawberry cake with strawberry icing inside and a rainbow outside.
Kip tells me today that he has too many toys. Wow, never heard a kid admit to that, but he sure was spoiled and will be entertained for weeks with his hefty haul thanks to all the family and neighbors.
Happy birthday to Kippy! Looks like he got a lot of fun things to play with.
