For Christmas, Terri Mom and Allen Dad got Dan and us tickets to go to the Auto Show that is in New York City every spring. Back in December I figured we'd just get a sitter for Kip but since Grandma and Grandpa got Kippy a ticket as well we made a family day-venture of it.
Plus, Kippy is SUPER into cars right now. It's all about cars. Playing with cars, watching Cars the movie, watching cars on the street, running after cars, matchbox cars, all kinds of cars. So, we knew he'd probably love the Auto Show.
We took the subway hoping he would take a nap but there was too much to
watch and he rallied once we got to the show and let him walk around. He
LOVED it.
There was a little area in the back downstairs with a mini NYC Department of Sanitation garbage truck and a real street sweeper that kids could climb in and he really loved that, despite the fit while we waited our turn. The lighting wasn't great down there so these pictures are a little dark.
There was also an FDNY firetruck as well which he loved.
He was running all over the place. There were a lot of other kids there but he seemed to be the only one that needed restraint. We had to put his little leash backpack on which I feel like everyone stares at us when we use it but truly it's for his own safety. He was trying to climb under the stanchions and get into things that were blocked off. So yeah, we have a leash.
He didn't nap at all while we were out and didn't nap on the subway home so things got a little cranky and hairy but overall it was a really fun family day.
On Sunday we went to church and got to see Aunt Judy and Aunt Kandi again as well as cousin Kourtney and then we stayed for the Jamboree potluck and bingo before running errands and heading home.
Busy weekend. Busy boy.
SO FUN! Noah would FREAK OUT over the pretend sanitation truck, fire truck, and street sweeper! Such a fun day!
