On Monday Kip was throwing a fit for no good reason so I threw myself on the floor as well and that pissed him off so I suggested he come "snug with Mommy" so he ran to our bed and happily calmed down with some snugs.
One key to keeping Kip in a good mood is allowing him to walk around and explore outside for at least some portion of the day. Good weather is crucial and this week delivered some good days.
Another key is letting him relax and watch a show. I know there are issues with screen-time and we have noted an uptick in tantrums following a lot of TV. However, Kip is so active and really does crave down-time. He seems to have some introverted qualities (Dan and I are both introverts too). And he loves Toy Story and he does absorb some educational tid-bits from shows so we are fine with a bit of TV a day.
On Wednesday night there was a house fire on our side block. There were 5 fire trucks and several ambulances outside for a couple of hours. What was so strange, however, was it was silent. No sirens, just the flashing lights. We're pretty sure everyone got out okay. For the amount of fire trucks there really didn't appear to be too much urgency.
Auntie Jessy is coming to visit tomorrow!! Happy weekend!
