This weekend we loaded up the car and headed to New Jersey for the day!
Normally, if we plan to hang out with Mandy, she will just spend the night on Friday. But, now that we have a car, we can come to her! We arrived by 9 am and spent the day in the luxuries of the suburbs.
Stopped at Mandy's apartment for coffee and to pick her up
We got a car wash
Went to Hobby Lobby!!!
Spent time in Target
Got lunch at Cheesecake Factory
Strolled the mall
And Kippy met Santa!!
We were back in Brooklyn by late afternoon since Mandy had a babysitting gig that night and parking was going to be exceptionally hard Saturday night due to street closures on Sunday.
Although we bought the car to assist with getting to church on Sundays, we opted out yesterday due to the the New York City marathon which runs straight through our neighborhood and directly in front of our apartment building. We didn't feel confident about driving and parking through that mayhem and I did not want to hassle with the subway. Also, daylight savings time threw a wrench in Kippy's (and our) sleep schedule. 4 am start to the day and a baby that hardly naps made for a very, very long day.
But we took Kippy out to see the excitement which he seemed interested in for a few minutes and then fell asleep. It was hypnotic, I guess.
Dan and I spent the rest of the day meal planning, going grocery shopping, nursing Kip (what felt like endlessly), watching football, and struggling to get Kip to stay awake that extra hour, and binging The Walking Dead, which I decided to restart from season one.
