Weekending it

Saturday Kip had a soccer game in the morning. We are shocked at how good some of the kids are on this league (6 and under) and more floored at how aggressive they are and that the refs do NOTHING to stop full on body slamming and elbowing. Poor Kip took a few hits, fell several times, but tries his best and he really does his best to keep up! But, man! Playing for a solid hour is rough! He insisted he wanted to quit after the game and said he just wants to run. I told him he can't quit on a hard day but if he isn't interested in playing another season we won't force him.

After soccer we headed to the Food Truck Festival in town. Last year it was super crowded and there weren't many vendors. This year the event had even less vendors but at least it wasn't crowded. We let the kids do the activities at the PTO "fun zone" and then got hot dogs and tacos for lunch. The idea is great and we love the town's effort to host stuff like this, but, it was a bit underwhelming.

In the afternoon we drove to another part of Jersey where they have an awesome park near our favorite ice cream place. We spent the rest of the day outside.

Sunday was church, chores, a washing machine fiasco, and our first time getting the kid pool outside. As soon as we got everything set-up, the sun went behind a cloud and the temperature dropped, but the kids still had fun.

Heading into the last real week of school with our sights set on summer and a beach vacation!
