Instead of taking the ferry from our neighborhood, Dan drove us to downtown Brooklyn and we took the quick ferry to the island.
They've done such a great job making this place a fun escape and every year we come there is more to do and areas to explore. Sometimes I worry it will become a tourist trap but so far, not yet.
We had a picnic.
A little stroll.
Went down the slides.
Kip took a stroller nap so we got to chill and have a treat.
Then Kip played in the little splash pad area.
And we rented a surry bike and biked around the island once.
We headed back to Brooklyn around 3 pm. Stopped for ice cream and then headed home. It was a GREAT day and we are already looking forward to going back.
On Sunday, we spent the whole day at church. It was exhausting but Kip did pretty well considering he had two back-to-back days with only a small cat nap. Cute little moment caught between Kip and his little friend at church.
