Weekending it

For Christmas, Terri Mom and Allen Dad got Dan and us tickets to go to the Auto Show that is in New York City every spring. Back in December I figured we'd just get a sitter for Kip but since Grandma and Grandpa got Kippy a ticket as well we made a family day-venture of it.

Plus, Kippy is SUPER into cars right now. It's all about cars. Playing with cars, watching Cars the movie, watching cars on the street, running after cars, matchbox cars, all kinds of cars. So, we knew he'd probably love the Auto Show.

We took the subway hoping he would take a nap but there was too much to watch and he rallied once we got to the show and let him walk around. He LOVED it.

There was a little area in the back downstairs with a mini NYC Department of Sanitation garbage truck and a real street sweeper that kids could climb in and he really loved that, despite the fit while we waited our turn. The lighting wasn't great down there so these pictures are a little dark.

There was also an FDNY firetruck as well which he loved.

He was running all over the place. There were a lot of other kids there but he seemed to be the only one that needed restraint. We had to put his little leash backpack on which I feel like everyone stares at us when we use it but truly it's for his own safety. He was trying to climb under the stanchions and get into things that were blocked off. So yeah, we have a leash.

He didn't nap at all while we were out and didn't nap on the subway home so things got a little cranky and hairy but overall it was a really fun family day.

On Sunday we went to church and got to see Aunt Judy and Aunt Kandi again as well as cousin Kourtney and then we stayed for the Jamboree potluck and bingo before running errands and heading home.

Busy weekend. Busy boy.

Peeks from the Week

Lots of park and outdoor time this week! We've had a really lovely spring so far.

Aunt Judy and Aunt Kandi are in the city visiting this week. I got to see them on Wednesday and give them a tour of the museum and they came over on Thursday to play with Kippy and Dan. They brought along some surprises for Kip, including Toy Story stickers! He is a fan.

Happy Friday!

Taking Care of Business

Just documenting this for memory's sake.

Kippy likes to help dispose of his dirty diapers. It's a little trip to get out of the apartment, ride on the elevator, take his car for a push, throw away his diaper, and then head back upstairs.

Not really something we would do if we lived in a house but that's apartment life and city living.

Weekending it

We had a wonderful, sunny, and tantrum filled Easter!

Kippy opened his Easter basket in the morning. He loved the Buzz toy and "Big Bus."

Grandma and Grandma also got him a bouncy horse/donkey toy which we are calling Bullseye.

Mandy stayed over to come with us to church and I'm sure grateful because we needed a lot of help keeping an eye on Kip. He was like five handfuls yesterday.

After church service there was the annual celebration on the schoolyard with Sumo suit wresting, bounce house, Easter bunny, and an ice cream truck, balloon animals, bubbles. Loads of fun and stimulation for Kip. He finally passed out on the car ride home after the ump-teenth meltdown.

This was the post Easter slump.

Happy Monday!
