Peeks from the Week

This time next week we will be in Kansas for Christmas. We're going to be there a little longer than usual because of the way the flights worked out. I'm looking forward to it! Minus the flight, I'm nervous about how Kip will handle things now that he is so mobile and busy. Eek.

This week we wrapped-up our Table gatherings for the year. "Table" is what our church calls a small groups. We hosted one at our place a couple of years ago when we first started attending and then stopped for a bit after Kip was born. We restarted this past fall and have a really great group. It's mainly about food and fellowship over study but we have had some good discussion. This week we had a little Christmas celebration with a white elephant gift exchange.

Our apartment is very small for the amount of people that attend (usually 10 adults) but we make it work and every week I learn a little more about letting go of the control over our space and being present regardless. Dan does a great job getting dinner started before I come home from work and then we tag-team after everyone leaves to clean and reset everything before bed. It's a lot of work but we both enjoy the friendships and community.

Usually Kip is asleep during our gatherings and the other kids are at another house with a babysitter but this week we decided to include the kids for the party. Kip woke up because of the noise so we decided to let him join the fun. He was happy.

Please note the miracle of this photo. EVERYONE is looking at the camera (it was on a self timer), including the small children.

Merry Christmas!
