Oh there is nothing like coming off of a nice long holiday break and feeling like you have months worth of work to catch-up on. Ooof. But we enjoyed our break and that's what counts. I kind of like that Thanksgiving fell a little early this year. Did it? I mean it's always the 4th Thursday but I never remember having a full week after before December. Anyways, I'm glad it's not December yet.
Here is a little peek at how we spent our holiday. My parents flew into New Jersey and stayed with Mandy and Dan, Kip, and I came over on Thanksgiving morning. Kip watched some of the parade and he got to open an early Christmas present from Marmee and Poppa.
Kip is obsessed with my American Girl doll (which I don't really want him messing with too much) so Mandy picked a Corolle doll with hair for my parents to gift him for Christmas. He loves it and I think it's super sweet. Dan had a favorite dolly when he was a kid so he approves as well.
It was SO cold here on Thanksgiving so we stayed inside Mandy's snugly apartment and feasted in the afternoon.
We had ham this year and it was SO YUMMY! Plus sweet potato anna, mashed potatoes, rolls, creamed corn, and pie. Kippy LOVED the ham and devoured it. Thoroughly enjoyed his first Thanksgiving where he could eat.
On Friday we took Kip to the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey. He loved the sensory area, even though it was really crowded. Honestly he was just doing is own thing totally oblivious to where we were or what we were doing. He was like a little independent man.
Saturday we were back in Brooklyn and went to a little holiday market by the Brooklyn Museum. We originally wanted to go to the holiday market at Bryant Park but it was so cold and we opted to do something close enough to drive. We shopped the stalls and then eventually found a pizza place to have lunch and warm-up. While walking back to the car Kip had a blast playing in the leaves.
We hung out the rest of the weekend and decorated for Christmas on Sunday!
Kippy enjoyed all the snuggles and phone stealing with Marmee and Poppa. It was good visit.
