Tiny Trim

Last week I decided Kip's mullet was just a bit too much. You could pull it into a ponytail, so I made a few snips.

It was by no means professional or official. I don't even really consider it his first haircut since it was literally two snips from one part of his head. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty good.

This bulk of his hair is still in the back but a little tuft on top is coming in now too. Also, it should be noted, his head circumference is in the 96 percentile so he has a lot of space to cover.

Thanksgiving Break

Oh there is nothing like coming off of a nice long holiday break and feeling like you have months worth of work to catch-up on. Ooof. But we enjoyed our break and that's what counts. I kind of like that Thanksgiving fell a little early this year. Did it? I mean it's always the 4th Thursday but I never remember having a full week after before December. Anyways, I'm glad it's not December yet.

Here is a little peek at how we spent our holiday. My parents flew into New Jersey and stayed with Mandy and Dan, Kip, and I came over on Thanksgiving morning. Kip watched some of the parade and he got to open an early Christmas present from Marmee and Poppa.

Kip is obsessed with my American Girl doll (which I don't really want him messing with too much) so Mandy picked a Corolle doll with hair for my parents to gift him for Christmas. He loves it and I think it's super sweet. Dan had a favorite dolly when he was a kid so he approves as well.

It was SO cold here on Thanksgiving so we stayed inside Mandy's snugly apartment and feasted in the afternoon.

We had ham this year and it was SO YUMMY! Plus sweet potato anna, mashed potatoes, rolls, creamed corn, and pie. Kippy LOVED the ham and devoured it. Thoroughly enjoyed his first Thanksgiving where he could eat.

On Friday we took Kip to the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey. He loved the sensory area, even though it was really crowded. Honestly he was just doing is own thing totally oblivious to where we were or what we were doing. He was like a little independent man.

Saturday we were back in Brooklyn and went to a little holiday market by the Brooklyn Museum. We originally wanted to go to the holiday market at Bryant Park but it was so cold and we opted to do something close enough to drive. We shopped the stalls and then eventually found a pizza place to have lunch and warm-up. While walking back to the car Kip had a blast playing in the leaves.

We hung out the rest of the weekend and decorated for Christmas on Sunday!

Kippy enjoyed all the snuggles and phone stealing with Marmee and Poppa. It was good visit.

Weekending it

I had a nice extra long weekend since I took Friday off of work to spend with Mandy and our older sister Jessy. She stopped over in the city for a long layover ahead of her trip to Morocco! She got into New Jersey just as the snow arrived, came over to Brooklyn with Mandy on Friday morning, and the three of us got to have a sister day together...with Kip. We hung out, watched some shows, played with each other's hair, did some shopping, enjoyed lunch together. She left late afternoon and it was a perfect little visit.

Funny little story. We went to a little shopping area and stopped in Buy Buy Baby. They had the little motorized cars right out in front and Kip immediately went over to them and pushed one right out the front door setting the security alarm off. Oops.

On Saturday Dan, Kip, and I just hung out most of the day. I went of a quick coffee date with a friend while Dan watched all the boys. Thanks Dan!

Afterwards we struggled through the grocery store overrun with Thanksgiving shoppers and an unpleasant Kip.

Sunday was a looong day. We got to church at 8:30 am since I was on brunch team. Dan watched Kip and lucked out with a nap during the service! We stayed until 1:30 pm and followed that with a run to Trader Joes for the rest of our grocery list. We were all beat by the afternoon.

Kippy helped Dan with the laundry before bedtime.

Yay for the holiday week ahead!!!
