Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday! Lots of festive Halloween content coming to you this week. We really worked hard and played hard this weekend and locked away loads of fun memories.
On Saturday, Mandy and I hustled all morning to complete our weekend house cleaning chores/laundry. We skipped out on Ivy's nap and headed to the town Trunk-or-Treat. It was way more crowded this year but they had the brand new baseball fields open for games and the pavilion with crafts for added fun. The kids loved it.
In the afternoon, Mandy and I spent a couple of hours raking the yard and tidying the garage to host a pumpkin carving party the next day. Our home is really a choreographed team effort when we do stuff like this. Mandy and I do the cleaning and planning/execution and Dan entertains the kids while we get stuff set-up. Then we all get to enjoy the event.
On Sunday, we invited two families over to carve pumpkins. These are Kip's two buds from his Pre-K class who are both in a different Kindergarten class this year. Their moms and little sisters were in attendance as well. It was crazy and fun. There were pumpkin guts, pumpkin painting, festive food, and running around. Everyone seemed to have a blast, adults included.
I took Halloween off from work to do Kip's class party and Dan worked
from home to be around for trick-or-treating. I am grateful for the
flexibility we have in these moments to be able to allow the kids to
participate in these fun holidays. It's for the kids, really, and
watching them have fun is the joy for us. Check back for the Halloween recap tomorrow.
