It's August hot over here so we knocked out some summer bucket list items and soaked-in the sunnies.
On Friday night Dan had a guys night so Mandy stayed over and we took Kip out for an early dinner and watched a show.
Saturday morning we got around, picked-up bagels, and headed to the beach!
We debated going to a beach on the Jersey Shore but opted to go to South Beach in Staten Island instead since it's only 15 minutes away, not crowded, and not a huge production if we only stay for a little.
We only stayed for about an hour but Kip loved the sand and ran straight to the water and we were back in time for Kip's nap.
In the afternoon we were going to park hop in downtown Brooklyn but it was too hot so we drove over to New Jersey to see Toy Story 4.
I'd say Kip watched about 75% of it. The problem was we sat by an aisle and as soon as he saw people walking in and out of the theater he wanted to bounce. I walked with him for a bit in the lobby and Mandy did too but we ultimately lured him back in with nacho chips from the concession stand.
We liked the movie but all agreed that Toy Story 3 was the better ending and 4 felt entirely unnecessary to the story line. But still cute and I'll probably purchase it when it becomes available.
I wanted to get a picture of Kip in front of the movie poster with his Woody shirt and his Buzz toy.
But he didn't want to pose. He was more interested in...
An arcade car game with a wheel and button. Eesh.
On Sunday, Dan and I wrangled Kip all day at church and we tried to go on a family date in the afternoon to the new shaved ice CREAM (need to clarify it's ice cream not ice) place. Kip flipped out in the stroller and was screaming so we had to leave the place and devour the melting confection on the sidewalk instead.
Kip's communication is growing but we are in a tricky spot where he wants to say a lot but can't and we can't understand him so we've had a huge spike in tantrums lately. He isn't even two yet. Help us.
