We had a great time with them and Kip was so excited to see them. I really feel like FaceTime calls with my mom has made a difference because he recognized them right away and didn't need any warm-up time. Matchbox cars from Marmee helped as well!
We hung out on Friday and made a trip to the Staten Island Mall, helped Poppa with some work, and played.
On Saturday we went to the Staten Island Zoo!
This is the first time we've taken Kip to the zoo this year and since he has really learned to walk independently. He was ALL OVER THE PLACE. I honestly wonder what he would do if we just let him go wherever he wanted without his backpack leash. Would he even notice if we weren't next to him? I'm sure he'd get himself into a dangerous situation so we won't be trying that but man, he is such an explorer.
Saturday was our only nice weather day so we did our Mother's Day celebrating early and went to our favorite place for an early dinner after the zoo.
Sunday was cold and rainy so my parents went into the city to visit a museum and Dan and I stayed home with Kip to keep his napping consistent.
Today, Kippy and I went to breakfast with Marmee and Poppa and then hung out until they left for the airport. It was a great little visit and we'll see them again in two weeks when they come back from Italy.
