Weekending it

This weekend we had some friends in town staying with us while they ran around the city doing previously scheduled events. We hosted a brunch on Saturday morning as a mini "Couples Club" reunion. Remember our old Couples Club? Those were the days. We were missing one of our couples as they just had their second baby. We missed them. And Kip was protesting a nap in his crib for the picture.

A lot has changed since we all started getting together but glad we can all still connect.

After brunch and some visiting, Dan, Kip, and I headed to New Jersey to drop a bunch of stuff off at our storage unit and then join Mandy for a late lunch to celebrate her almost one-year anniversary of moving here. Man are we always behind grateful for her sacrifice and life change to move close to us.

Kip was so overtired but he did really well at the restaurant and enjoyed his first taste of French fries.

Since we had guests, Kip slept in our room which ended up being sort of a disaster on Friday night with three hours where Kip, Dan, and I were all awake. We broke all our rules. Night nursing (4 times!) playing in an attempt to tire Kip again, co-sleeping, watching TV. It was nutty. So Saturday night Dan and I slept in the living room and Kip slept in our room. It worked out much better and now we know, don't mess with a good routine once you have one.

We stayed home Sunday as the weather was bad and we wanted to give Kip a reset and get back into a better nap habit. Dan and I hung out, did some chores, got a tiny walk outside in between rain, and watched the Tony's together that night. The Band's Visit had a nearly clean sweep.

Today, Kip and I are hanging out and hopefully having the chance to go for some walks. Check back tomorrow for his 10 month post.
