Letters to Santa

On the first of December the kids delivered their letters to Santa. They weren't so much letters as they were a list of demands. Two lists each, in fact, since we will be in Kansas for Christmas necessitating some early presents since Santa can't possibly fit a Lego train in a suitcase. Honestly, Santa's helper (me) didn't think it through. So now we have two visits from Santa.

Anyways, the letters...they worked on them in November and decorated the envelopes. Kip wrote his on his own with only some spelling help.

Ivy insisted hers look the same as Kip's, except pink.

Then on December 1st Mandy took the kids after school to the Santa mailbox in town.

Stopped for some photo ops.

The mailbox doesn't look like much but a local family collects the letters and sends back letters from Santa. Super sweet and generous. The kids got their letter back this past weekend. Glitter filled our mailbox and covered the driveway when we opened the envelope.

Kip read the letter independently and showed our neighbors. He is right on the cusp of being too smart for this Santa business. He is questioning A LOT this year so I'm treasuring every excited moment he has left.
