October ended and winter arrived. Truly. Like winter coats and socks to bed kind of cold. Sigh. Guess I'll start making soups again.
This weekend we welcomed unofficial winter but doing our traditional early visit to Santa. I don't like to rush to Christmas but this is the one thing that we do early in the season. Mandy picked Kip's Santa outfit weeks ago and we headed to the mall in NJ on Saturday morning. There was ZERO line and Santa was actually walking around his little photo area and waving to kids. Kip wasn't shy at first and even shook Santa's hand. But once we tried to get him to sit with Santa he had a full meltdown. So we left and came-up with a foolproof strategy that resulted in not only a tear-free picture but a smiling one! I can't wait to show you closer to Christmas but it is a keeper.
After Santa we got lunch at Cheesecake Factory and hung out at Mandy's apartment while Dan went to our storage unit to get a bunch of stuff.
Our apartment building built some storage units in the basement and we've been on the wait list. We finally go one so we are emptying our unit in New Jersey. The unit in the building is slightly smaller but MUCH cheaper and you can't beat an elevator ride over a 30 minute drive with a toll.
Sunday was the end of daylight savings and Kip woke us up at 5:30 am. Plus it was Marathon Sunday. So we decided to stay home instead of braving the horrendous parking and awkward traffic to get to church.
We watched a bit of the marathon and then put Kip down for a nap.
After we made lunch together and then headed out for a walk and playground. I did my grocery shopping and Dan did the laundry. Football and chores to round out the weekend.
