Weekending it

Can I still post a Weekending it post, when it's Thursday?

Yeah. I guess so. Sorry for the delay. I'm only running like four days behind and not months or years so it's okay.

This weekend we had gorgeous weather so we headed to Storybook Land. It seems like we are tracking in a consistent pattern of three visits per year. Summer, Fall, and Christmas. It's a good rhythm. Not too frequent to get old and boring but making use of all the seasonal charm.

This was the first visit that Ivy was comfortable riding with just Kip instead of needing one of us adults always. So us adults did a lot of watching and not as much riding.

Kip was super into Bubbles the roller coaster this time and I went on it with him most of the time. It's a rough ride for old bones but quite a thrill.

Mandy and Kip tried the Turtle Twirl for the first time. Man-o-man it really got whipping around. They decided one and done.

We love to visit in the fall and enjoy the hay maze scavenger hunt.

They each got to pick a small pumpkin and decorate it with sticker faces.

More rides.

It's such a sweet and special place to us and I'm grateful for all the memories we've made here. In a few years the kids will grow out of this and I know I'll be sad.

On our way out of town we stopped at a garden center and got some photo ops before heading home.

On Sunday we did church and chores and stopped at the new Duck Donuts nearby. The donuts are made fresh right in front of you, and oh wow. I'll never go back to Dunkin again.

And look at that, it's almost the weekend again already!
