Weekending it - Father's Day Style

This weekend was all about celebrating THE BEST DAD IN THE UNIVERSE!

Dan got to attend the Father's Day brunch in Ivy's class on Thursday and he got a snazzy little tie to wear.

Our whole entire weekend was cold and wet. But Dan picked a pretty perfect itinerary for a rainy day. We got burgers and then went to see How to Train Your Dragon at the movie theater. Of course the kids managed to get the merchandise out of us.

On Sunday, Dan got to sleep in and the kids and I cooked breakfast and served him breakfast in bed.

We included some fake ice cubes with bugs inside for an extra treat!

Then he came down to open presents which included some other practical jokes and cute crafts from the kids.

Oh these little surveys are always hilarious.

We spent most of the rest of the day inside since it was still rainy but we played with Dad which is what he does best.

We love you, Dan!

Peeks from the Week

Well, not much is happening around here to share. Just trying to get through the last few weeks of school and random days off and half days. The weather still hasn't evened out to be consistently summery so we're all a bit confused about what to wear and what to do. The kids are antsy and ready to be done with school and I'm just trying to keep up with the To-Do list.

Here are some random shots from the last couple of weeks.

The kids finished their Ninja gym and gymnastics season.

The kids went to a Garden Party at the school one day and planted some seeds that have really taken off and I have no place to put them!!

We rediscovered bubbles and chalk this past weekend. The chalk paint stained the sidewalk. Eek! But hopefully it will fade over time.

The kids each had a friend over yesterday for play dates and tomorrow we are celebrating Dan for Father's Day.

Next week is Ivy's little Pre-K Graduation and we are headed to Cape May for our now-traditional summery kick-off beach trip.  Then it's three half days left of school and then it's full-on summer!

Weekending it

Well we are in those crazy days of June. A million school events, shifting schedules with work, birthdays, etc. It's wild and I feel like we're barely holding one in this last swing to summer.

This past weekend we took the kids to Dave and Buster's for the first time. They earned a trip to an arcade from filling their Kindness Tokens jars several months ago but we never made the trip until now.

They were excited to finally get to go and it was a fun evening.

Ivy also spent some time on her bike over the weekend. She was SO scared initially even once we got her training wheels. But, slowly she is getting some confidence and picking up speed.

And on our walk we found a turtle's nest and empty eggs. And all the way across a big baseball field we found an itty bitty turtle.
