I hope you all had a fun and festive Halloween. We had a GREAT day with weather in the 80s. Can you believe that? It was hot and made for some super pleasant trick-or-treating.
The kids' school makes this a super fun day. Everyone gets to wear their costumes to school, there is an all-school costume parade around the block, class parties, and a half day. PLUS, fall break started that afternoon so no school on Friday and no school this week!!!
This year the kids picked their costumes in September. Kip actually got his costume at Storybook Land this summer and he was the only knight we saw that day. Ivy of course wanted to be a unicorn again this year. She adored her costume.
Late afternoon the kids got back into their costumes and we got ready to meet-up with friends to go trick-or-treating. It was SO hot out! Ivy switched out of her costume almost immediately since it was essentially a plush onesie and very warm. She switched to a unicorn cape and eventually took that off as well. Can you believe it? October 31, running around in shorts and a t-shirt.
We met-up with our friends and stayed out until dark. Because it was so warm there were a lot more kids out and it added to the festive atmosphere.
When we got home the kids sorted candy while I made our Halloween tradition dinner of mummy hot dogs and tater tots.
I love being able to relive my own childhood memories while also creating memories for Kip and Ivy. Halloween is a fun one. It was a good day and a great way to welcome-in the holiday season.
